Manchester City have very much picked up where they left off last season.Pep Guardiola’s side reached the 100 point tally during 2017/18 campaign and have already racked up seven wins from their nine matches this time around. You certainly wouldn't bet against them reaching that tally once again. One of the most important aspects of City’s title win last season was Ederson. The Brazilian arrived from Benfica for £35 million and played a major role in City conquering England. Not only was he brilliant between the sticks, but his distribution also earned plenty of plaudits.Ederson's ability to start attacks from his own penalty area with his incredible passing ability is pretty much unrivalled in world football. And he produced one of his incredible pings against Burnley on Saturday.Guardiola’s side remained top of the table with an emphatic 5-0 victory and Ederson showed City’s intent straight from kick-off.Only 120 seconds had passed when he received the ball in City’s goal. And he wasn’t hanging around. He smashed a 70-yard pass to Riyad Mahrez on the right wing, who won a corner as his cross was blocked.

Take a look:

Wow.

Ederson only turned 25 in the summer and his manager is adamant that he’s on course to become the best goalkeeper in the world.

“He is one of the top [‘keepers],” explained Guardiola.

“With his age and his desire to improve he will become an extraordinary goalkeeper.

“The most important thing is he is so calm. When he concedes a goal he is quiet and when he make an extraordinary save he is quiet. His reaction is the same. He is so stable.

“But he is young and has to improve a lot of things, but he is, for me, already one of the best in the world and in the future he will be strong.”
