Jurgen Klopp is still looking to win his first trophy as Liverpool manager.

The Reds are unbeaten in the Premier League this season and appear ready to present a serious challenge to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

Liverpool are the most successful English club in Europe and are one of the bookies favourites to win the Champions League this year.

Klopp's attack-minded team reached the Champions League final in May but - on a miserable night for Loris Karius - they were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid in Kiev.

Everton forward Nikola Vlasic has offered his thoughts on Liverpool's Champions League ambitions.

The 21-year-old Croatian joined from Hajduk Split for £10m in August 2017 but was sent on a season-long loan to CSKA Moscow for the 2018-19 season.

Vlasic was asked who he thinks will win the Champions League this season - and his response suggests he's not thinking about returning to Everton.

“I would say… Chelsea, but they’re not in it," responded Vlasic to Gazzetta dello Sport. "They play beautiful football with Sarri. What he did at Napoli, he’s building it in London.

"It’s amazing. In three months he’s changed Chelsea’s style, and Eden Hazard is the one who’s benefitted the most, not just with his goals.

"Champions League [winner]? I’d say Liverpool, last year’s final and now [they are] stronger than Manchester City, Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid.”

The Croatian international - who has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal at Goodison Park - also praised Klopp's style of football.

"In the Premier League, only the top five or six teams, managed by foreigners like Klopp or Guardiola, play great football," Vlasic continued.

"The others think only about defending, focusing on the physical aspect. That’s not how I want to play.”

Not exactly the best way to endear yourself to the Everton faithful.

Since 2006, Liverpool have only won one trophy.
