Arsenal came from behind to record an impressive 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Monday night.

The Foxes dominated proceedings in the first 40 minutes but had no answer for Mesut Ozil's sublime captain performance.

Leicester took the lead through a Hector Bellerin own goal but Arsenal's German playmaker scored a lovely equaliser on the stroke of half-time.

Club record signing Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang came off the bench to score a brace for the second game in a row.

Jamie Vardy had proven to be a thorn in Arsenal's side in recent years, scoring six goals in seven Premier League appearances against the Gunners.

But the 31-year-old Englishman struggled to make any kind of impact at the Emirates.

In the 88th minute, Vardy jogged off the pitch and went straight down the tunnel following a quick chat with his manager on the touchline

Football fans on social media speculated that he was dashing off to use the toilet.

And Leicester's manager Claude Puel explained why Vardy left the match early in his post-match press conference.

“Jamie was ill and he could not come back out," Puel told reporters, as per the Leicester Mercury. “You need to speak with him [to see when his illness came on].

“I think it started in the second half. He couldn’t digest the penalty decision.”

Brilliant response!

Leicester were denied a stonewall penalty in the first half when Rob Holding handled the ball in the Arsenal box.

Referee Chris Kavanagh had an excellent view of the incident but elected to let play continue.

The 3-1 defeat leaves Leicester in 11th place, two points behind Manchester United.

After excusing himself early, Vardy is expected to be fit for Saturday's Premier League clash against West Ham at the King Power Stadium.
