Last nights edition of Monday Night Raw from Providence, Rhode Island started with Roman Reigns walking out to the always-polarising reception of the WWE Universe, but he has a less-than-familiar look about him.Appearing in regular clothes as opposed to the riot gear that he usually wears, there was something already amiss with Reigns' demeanour as he walked to the ring.Rumours had swirled that the Big Dog had suffered an injury which led to his removal from WWE live events this past weekend, but as he was about to reveal, Reigns is going through something a lot worse. The Universal Champion took the microphone and said: "I feel like I owe everyone an apology."For months, maybe even a whole year, I've come out here as Roman Reigns and said I'd come out here every week, that I'd be a fighting champion, that I was going to be consistent, that I was going to be a workhorse - but that's all lies."And then came the dreaded announcement."It's a lie because the reality is, my real name is Joe and I've been living with leukemia for 11 years and unfortunately it's back.

"And because the leukemia is back i cannot fulfil my role, I can't be that fighting champion and I'm going to have to relinquish my Universal Championship."

The live crowd were visibly moved and speechless by the announcement, literally no-one expected such horrible news.

As Reigns thanked the crowd for their support and vowing to return stronger than ever, he was joined at the top of the ramp by his Shield brothers - Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins - posing with all three fists one final time before Reigns undergoes his personal battle away from the squared circle.

There's not much more else to say other than - thank you Roman.
