Last night saw the reveal of the news that no-one in the WWE really wanted to hear - Roman Reigns is battling with leukemia.
The Universal Champion told the WWE fans that after first suffering from the illness 11 years ago, it's now returned and he will have to step away from the ring for another kind of fight.
Fans in attendance for Raw in Providence gave their usual polarising reaction to the arrival of the Big Dog, but the mood was soon turned upside down when he took to the microphone.
Reigns tried to hold back the tears as he uttered the life-changing news to a gobsmacked audience, who responded with applause for his fight.
After making his shocking admission, Reigns told the world that he was going to whip the backside of leukemia and would be coming back for his Universal Championship - which is now vacant.
And he was adamant to point out that it was not a retirement speech that he was giving, because he has fought it before and he will overcome it again.
Reigns met his tag team partners Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins at the top of the ramp as his music played, and the embrace was genuinely heartwarming, with the Kingslayer visibly moved by the whole thing.
It was the first time that Reigns had ever publicly discussed his original battle with cancer, and the WWE released a short statement last night explaining that the Samoan has chosen now to tell-all is 'an effort to raise awareness and funds for research in order to advance cures for the disease.'
News of Reigns' battle instantly went viral on social media, with wrestlers from WWE, Hall of Famers and fighters from all over the globe wishing Reigns the best of luck in his fight via Twitter.
Even New Japan Pro Wrestling's official account sent their best wishes.
