Crewe are waiting to discover the extent of the head injury Danny Blanchett suffered during the home victory over Aldershot.

The defender was forced off after 70 minutes of the 3-1 win on Saturday following a clash with a Shots player.

Blanchett's blow to the head resulted in concussion and a cut near an eye that required stitches.

He is a major doubt ahead of the derby clash at Port Vale this weekend.
