To say that Real Madrid are missing Cristiano Ronaldo right now could be something of an understatement.

Los Blancos are in dire straights right now, having lost four of their previous five matches.

The shocking run of form, which saw them go 481 minutes without scoring a goal, has resulted in Julen Lopetegui being on the brink of losing his job.

They face Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League on Tuesday in a contest that represents a good chance to get back on track.

But after that, Real take on Barcelona in La Liga. Ouch.

While Lopetegui is struggling, Ronaldo is beginning to show why Juventus paid nearly £100 million to sign him.

The 33-year-old has scored five goals in seven matches, helping the Old Lady establish a four-point lead in Serie A.

Rivaldo gets it spot on about Ronaldo

Real Madrid midfielder Isco recently said that the Spanish club “can’t cry” about Ronaldo’s absence, but there has to be a feeling within the camp that his production hasn’t been replaced.

And former Barcelona forward Rivaldo believes it is obvious that Real lack anyone who can produce the same numbers as Ronaldo did.

But it’s not just Ronaldo’s goals that Real miss, according to Rivaldo, but his personality too.

“Ronaldo is a top player, not only for his goals but also for his personality as he hates to lose," Rivaldo said.

"He was a big help for his teammates not only for his goals but also due to his personality as he hated to lose.

“He was a big help for his teammates on the pitch and it is obvious that nobody can replace him adequately."

Karim Benzema made a fast start to the season, scoring five times in the first four games of the season, but the goals have dried up for the Frenchman.

He’s now gone eight games without scoring.

Real Madrid re-signed Mariano Diaz from Lyon and gave him Ronaldo’s No.7 shirt, but he’s managed just one goal and has played 90 minutes just once this season.
