Paco Alcacer has rediscovered his goalscoring form since quitting Barcelona for Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Incredibly, the 25-year-old Spanish forward has already scored seven Bundesliga goals in just 127 minutes of football.

His excellent form has earned him a recall to the Spanish national team.

Alcacer had previously joined Barcelona from Valencia for €30m in 2016 - but only managed 14 La Liga starts during his two-year stint at the Camp Nou.

He was firmly behind Luis Suarez in the pecking order under both Luis Enrique and Ernesto Valverde.

Alcacer is technically still a Barcelona player but Dortmund are expected to trigger the €23m clause to make the deal permanent.

He appears to be enjoying his football much more in Germany.

Alcacer on Messi

Borussia Dortmund's leading goalscorer never looked comfortable in a Barcelona shirt.

Alcacer spent two seasons playing alongside Lionel Messi - and has revealed how Barcelona's greatest ever player affected his game.

"He [Messi] may capture the attention, but I also think he makes you a better footballer," said Alcacer, as per AS. "In fact, many of the goals I scored at Barcelona were from his passes.

"He gives you passes that leave you alone in front of the goalkeeper and all you have to do is score.

"So yes, he does capture the attention, but he makes you a better player."

Even though he struggle badly in Catalonia, Alcacer believes that playing next to Messi made him a better player.

He added that he doesn't regret his two-year spell at Barcelona, insisting that he's improved as a footballer and a person.

Alcacer said: "Some may want to think that I might have lost the past two years from their viewpoint, I don't think I've lost two years.

"In terms of the number of minutes I had it's clear that I'd have liked to play more, but I have improved a lot as a footballer and as a person.

"I didn't have the minutes at Barcelona that we all want and now I am having them and things are going well."

Alcacer is set to return to Spain when Dortmund visit Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
