Manchester United are the latest club being linked with a move for Dutch midfielder Ibrahim Afellay. Dutch side PSV Eindhoven will start a bidding war this January by putting want-away midfielder Afellay on the transfer list.

Sources at the club have confirmed to talkSPORT that the dutch international is set to leave the club in January and Everton, Arsenal and Liverpool are all keen on his services, and you can now add Manchester United into the mix.

PSV want to cash in on the 24-year-old midfielder now as his contract expires next summer, when he will be allowed to leave for nothing. Afellay - who scored in PSV's 10-0 win against Feyenoord at the weekend - wants to move on from the club he has been at his whole career.

Afellay, who has 30 caps for Holland and was part of their World Cup squad is a long term target of Arsene Wenger, but it is understood that his likeliest destination is Serie A or La Liga.

"It's best for both of us if we let Afellay go in January. We want as much money as possible for him as he's been a valuable player for PSV." The club told talkSport.
