Arsenal are among several clubs being linked with a move for Saint-Etienne's French international midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

The 23-year-old midfielder is said to be on the radar of some of Europe's elite clubs, including Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Valencia and Arsenal.

Matuidi its thought to favour a move to the Premier League, which has alerted big guns Arsenal. Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Matuidi and it appears that English clubs would have an advantage in any attempt to sign the French powerhouse.

The player himself told French newspaper France Soir "It inside to know a club like Juventus is following you or asking about you"

"But the league that would suit me best is the Premier League. This is due to tactical, cultural and physical reasons, and the atmosphere in the stadiums."

Matuidi won his first cap for France this year in a 2-0 victory over Bosnia, after an impressive last term with Saint-Etienne. Arsene Wenger will once again be hoping his French connection can help him bring another major target to the Emirates, but Liverpool, with their new American owners, should have money to spend in the January window.
