Arsenal fans tear into Paul Merson after his comments about the club on live TV

Unai Emery has enjoyed a good start to life at Arsenal.

The Spanish manager lost his opening two Premier League games, against Manchester City and Chelsea, but his side have bounced back superbly.

Arsenal are currently on an 11-game winning run and are fourth in the Premier League table; two points behind Man City and Liverpool.

They could hit the front if they beat Crystal Palace on Sunday and other results go their way.

So, with Arsenal flying high, there is a lot of reason to be optimistic if you are a fan of the Gunners.

But not all those associated with the club are sharing that notion.

Paul Merson gave his opinion about the club on Sky Sports earlier on Saturday and it's fair to say he isn't overly convinced with the side.

Merson argued that despite their winning run, they are a team that are waiting to get found out and stated that he would be 'shocked' if Liverpool didn't beat them by more than three goals.

"If they don't lose by more than three goals next Saturday I'll be shocked," he ranted.

"Leicester are average at best and that should have been out of sight after 30 minutes.

"They aren't in the same class as this Liverpool team.

Unai Emery's side are currently on an 11-game winning streak

"If Liverpool turn up and they fancy it - and I have to say fancy it - they will rip Arsenal to absolute...

"And they'll get found out. They're just waiting to get found out.

"They're like a boxer who has got a dodgy chin that hasn't been hit yet and as soon as he gets hit he's going to get absolutely sparked.

"No way are they winning the league."

Ouch. For a former Arsenal player, Merson sure is pessimistic about the club's chances of winning the Premier League title this season.

At least he mentioned right at the end of the clip that they would beat Crystal Palace on Sunday...

Nevertheless, Merson's comments did seem unnecessary and it's no surprise that they have gone down very badly with Arsenal fans.
