Darren Ambrose could make a shock return to the Crystal Palace team to play Swansea on Saturday.

The Eagles top scorer from last season has been on the sidelines since August with a badly bruised bone just below his knee which has kept him out of action for much longer than first expected.

After Ambrose played 25 minutes in a reserve team game, Burley told The Croydon Advertiser: "Darren played a good portion of the match and came through it very well which was better than we had first hoped for. We weren't expecting him to be fit for the weekend but after seeing him play I wouldn't rule him out."
