Tonight, we will witness the first-ever all-women's pay-per-view event hosted by WWE - Evolution.

It's set to be headlined by UFC Hall of Famer and current Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey, who will defend her title against Nikki Bella.

On the SmackDown Live side of things, Becky Lynch's belt is up for grabs in a Last Woman Standing match against Charlotte Flair.

With the likes of current stars Sasha Banks, Bayley, Asuka and legends of the ring such as Lita, Trish Stratus and Ivory all stepping inside the ropes in the Nassau Coliseum, it's set to be an epic night of action.

As we all know by now, Stephanie McMahon likes to get involved with the women's revolution whenever she feels like it, even though she didn't play an in-ring part in any of it.

She was the woman to basically announce the movement, introducing the likes of Lynch, Banks and Flair to the main roster from NXT, and is prominent in most major women's segments.

And Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer discussed an 'expected announcement' at tonight's pay-per-view from McMahon - including speculating what he thinks it's likely to be.

“Stephanie McMahon could very easily everybody announce Women’s Tag Team Championships on the show," said Alvarez, per Ringside News.

"I think Stephanie had even publicly said that there will eventually be Women’s Tag Team Titles so this is not something that’s made up.

“They could announce there’s going to be another Women’s Royal Rumble again this year. They could announce there will be a 2nd women’s only pay-per-view — there’s a lot of things they can do.

"I expect some sort of big announcement and I wouldn’t be surprised if it is one or even all of those really.”

The tag titles have been a long-rumoured addition to the main roster, and Evolution would be a perfect time to announce them.

Whether that happens though remains to be seen, but we are surely in for a fascinating evening of female athletes doing what they do best.
