The news that Roman Reigns is battling leukaemia for the second time in his life has rocked the WWE in many ways.

Not only did it force the Big Dog to vacate the Universal title that he chased Brock Lesnar for almost two years to get, but the WWE have lost a locker room leader, too.

Reigns was all set to defend the Universal title at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia in what was originally billed as a triple-threat match against Braun Strowman and Lesnar.

However, with Reigns' announcement, it will now be Strowman and Lesnar squaring off for the vacant title.

Strowman has also seemingly become a babyface after last week's Raw where Vince McMahon was forced to shuffle his pack, so it would make sense that he and Lesnar battle it out.

However, according to PWInsider, the WWE are considering making the bot a triple-threat match once again.

Although there are plenty of logical choices to chuck into this match, the report suggests that Drew McInytre has been considered by WWE officials over the past week.

Of course, the Scottish Psychopath attacked Strowman last week and got his receipt in the main event, so it figures that their conflict is only going to escalate.

Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman

It would be a fantastic spot for McIntyre and it would be logical too, so we can only hope the WWE makes that a reality on Raw tonight.

Rollins would have been a good pick to fight for Roman's honour, and Finn Balor is also a man with unfinished business with the Universal title. However, storyline wise, McIntyre has the edge and if reports are to be believed, WWE has huge plans for the 33-year-old in the future.

The common belief is that this will finally be Strowman's time to pick up his first world title and cement himself in the company, but with rumours the WWE would like to see Lesnar take their title into the octagon when he returns to UFC lingering, it's not a forgone conclusion.
