Tyson Fury has remembered asking Anthony Joshua outside to fight in the street.

But, before potentially meeting Joshua in the ring, the infamous ‘Gypsy King’ will first have to go through WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

During promotions for the Wilder fight – scheduled for December 1 - Fury has described a past encounter with the unified WBA, IBF and WBO champion.

Whilst not specifying how the encounter actually happened, when asked about Joshua’s character, Fury recalled the incident during Showtime’s Below the Belt.

“He seems pretty spirited doesn’t he?” Fury asked.

“But when I stood face-to-face to him and said, ‘Do you want to get outside?’ His a*** started flapping.

“He s*** himself.

“It doesn’t matter what weight I was at the time, I wasn’t in shape, but I’d have took him outside and kicked his c*** right in for him.

“If a man said that to me - I don’t care if I was unfit or not – he’d be outside and punches. We’d have had to have a fight. Simple.

“But I said that to him and he didn’t want to know.”

The pair are known to have sparred together in their early days and Fury was respectful of Joshua then.

However, any rapport between the two has since deteriorated and they are now clear rivals at the forefront of the heavyweight division.

Retaining his world heavyweight titles following a seventh-round stoppage of Alexander Povetkin back in September, Joshua could potentially fight the winner of December’s Wilder and Tyson match.

Tyson has been frank in the past about his poor condition during periods in which he battled drink, drugs and depression.

But Olympic silver medallist Joe Joyce - currently helping his fellow heavyweight in this world title bid – believes Tyson is “the most talented I’ve been in the ring with.”

“I admire and respect Deontay Wilder,” said Tyson in a recent interview.

But, when asked to describe Joshua in one word, he replied “p***y”.
