After weeks of speculation regarding the status of the event, Crown Jewel is set to take place this coming Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.WWE signed a multi-million dollar deal with the Kingdom to host events over a ten-year period, with Crown Jewel being the second. But up until last weeks third quarter report, WWE were seriously considering switching the show to another location - but made the huge decision to stick with the Middle East country. Some fans are now boycotting the product and WWE Network, but it's unlikely to be enough to put a financial dent on Vince McMahon.Ever since the announcement in early 2018 surrounding the huge deal, some sections of the WWE Universe were deeply unhappy because the country does not allow female superstars to appear or compete. And the Saudi government issued an apology after a WWE advert that ran at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in April showed Carmella and Sasha Banks, in which they described as an 'indecent scene.'So WWE's apparent latest edition to the personnel heading over to Saudi Arabia for the event could be seen as controversial. It was revealed by Pro Wrestling Sheet yesterday that Renee Young is set to be one of the announcers that commentates the event. If true, they would of course have had to get the Saudi's permission to make such a decision, but because she's not an in-ring talent, it may not be such a big deal.A tweet during Monday Night Raw however caught Young's reaction when her colleague Michael Cole was promoting the event, where she looked far-from-pleased to say the least.WWE fans have given a mixed reaction to the news, with some praising WWE for taking a bit of a stand, and others being less-than-happy that she will be attending.
