Malcom's debut season with Barcelona hasn't gone as planned so far.

The Brazilian forward arrived in the summer for a fee of around €40m, with Barca snatching him away from Roma at the very last minute.

Arsenal and Tottenham had also registered serious interest in him back in January, but he opted for his 'dream move' to Catalonia.

However, the former Bordeaux man - who was one of the shining stars in Ligue 1 - has failed to even start a La Liga game as of yet.

In fact, he's played just 25 minutes in Spain's top-flight, with Rafinha and Ousmane Dembele both seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order.

Even in the absence of Lionel Messi, Malcom hasn't received any game time.

As such, rumour mills have been linking the 20-year-old with a potential January exit, with Arsenal and Inter Milan two clubs mentioned.

But it seems those rumours are false, because Malcom has spoken publicly about his current situation with a message on his Instagram story.

Malcom's Instagram message

He wrote: "About news that came out here in Spain, I want to clarify this: I came to Barcelona with many objectives, and those who know me know that I am a very determined person.

"I'm very happy with my development with every passing day. My objective is to make my dreams come true.

"My family is also adapting very well to the city. Anyway, I'll continue fighting for everything I desire in my career."

They're not the words of a player asking Ernesto Valverde to leave in January.

Malcom in action vs Leganes

Malcom was surely aware before his move that breaking into this Barca team would be a very tough task.

Messi, Dembele, Rafinha, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho represent one of the finest attacks in European football.

All he can do is train hard and wait for his big chance, which will surely come at some point in the season.
