Shawn Michaels hadn't been in a WWE ring - competing, anyway - for over eight years before his participation in the tag team main event at Crown Jewel on Friday night.

D-Generation X took on the Brothers of Destruction - Kane and the Undertaker - in the main event in Saudi Arabia, a show that came under intense scrutiny following the murder of a US journalist in a Saudi consulate in Turkey.

Michaels is, without doubt, one of the best to ever lace his boots in the squared circle, but a bald looking Heart Break Kid is a strange thing to digest.

Many wondered if the Saudi money was really worth Michaels potentially ruining his legacy, but most fans would have got a pleasant surprise from the former WWE champion.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels won the match thanks to two Sweet Chin Musics and one Pedigree and Michaels had some vintage offence in the match.

For example, at 53-years-old, Michaels scaled to the top rope and hit a moonsault to the floor on the outside. Pretty crazy stuff!

Triple H started the match, though, in order to build the anticipation of Michael's first move back in a WWE ring.

When it came, a fair few fans thought Michaels may have gotten it all wrong.

Of course, Michaels took a four-year sabbatical from wrestling back in 1998 after WrestleMania 15, but he returned in his mid-thirties with plenty of gas left in the tank.

Now, after eight years away and into his fifties, fans were seemed to be queuing up for a chance to grill Michaels, but in truth, it's really not that bad a botch. He hits Triple H, sure, but anyone in attendance wouldn't know that.

There have been rumours that HBK, now a trainer and producer with NXT, may open himself up to one WrestleMania match for next year and the line of guys wanting a shot at Michaels figures to be 10 miles long.

The graphic of Michaels squaring off against AJ Styles which did the rounds about a year ago certainly intrigued many, including Michaels himself. Could AJ be the lucky superstar?

What did you guys think of HBK's 'botch'?
