D-Generation X members Triple H and Shawn Michaels took on The Brothers of Destruction, The Undertaker and Kane, in the main event of Crown Jewel yesterday that was filled with nostalgia.

It was Michaels' first match in the WWE since he faced off and lost against The Deadman in a Streak vs Career match at WrestleMania in 2010.

However, for the vast majority of the match, HBK had to carry the workload for D-Generation X against The Brothers of Destruction as The Game had picked up an injury early in the contest.

WWE later confirmed the injury on their website, stating: "During the epic showdown between D-Generation X and The Brothers of Destruction at WWE Crown Jewel, Triple H sustained what appears to be a torn pectoral muscle.

"As a result, The Game plans to return to the United States this week to undergo surgical repair."

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that The Game is heading directly to Birmingham, Alabama for an official diagnosis and will undergo immediate surgery if necessary.

If surgery is necessary, he could be out for months from in-ring competition, which would put any plans for The Game at WrestleMania 35 in 2019 in jeopardy.

The current rumoured plan for Triple H at WrestleMania next year was that he would face off against fellow Evolution member Batista after the two had a heated confrontation at SmackDown 1000 last month.

The Animal teased The Game by stating he had achieved a lot inside and outside the ring for the WWE, except beat him.

Many WWE fans are now in belief that the two will now square off in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania to settle this, as well as give Batista one last run in the WWE before retiring as an in-ring performer.

As well as Triple H vs Batista being in jeopardy, it looks as though D-Generation X's feud with The Brothers of Destruction is over, especially now since Michaels has confirmed he is going back into retirement.
