There are few games in the world quite like the Istanbul derby. On Friday night, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce shared the spoils, with the visitors coming from two goals down to snatch a point.Galatasaray will have expected more given their rivals' struggles of late, but they can't have been anticipating what happened after the final whistle. What had been a typically heated affair descended into utter chaos, with Jailson Siqueira seemingly running away from a baying mob of opponents and heading straight down the tunnel. Very wise.Even the coaching staff got involved. You have to feel for the referee, who did his best to contain the ugly scenes but who ultimately couldn't stopHe did, however, send off former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado, as well as his Fenerbahce team-mate Jailson.

Crazy scenes

Galatasaray's Badou Ndiaye, on loan from Stoke, also saw red. There were a few more familiar faces involved too, in the form of ex-Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel and Swansea loanee Andre Ayew.

Take a look at the footage below, which quickly started to go viral:

It's very difficult to work out who was at fault, or what the individuals in question did to stand out as the worst offenders.

Images have since emerged of Soldado putting his head in the face of Galatasaray's number 10. He'd only come on as a substitute in the 78th minute.

During his time at Spurs, at least, the Spaniard always seemed reasonably mild-mannered, if a little goal-shy.

The 33-year-old remains popular in north London despite his struggles at White Hart Lane.

It was difficult not to feel sympathy with him as he battled personal difficulties and scored just seven goals in 52 appearances.

If football fans are rubbing their hands at the prospect of River Plate and Boca Juniors going head-to-head in the Copa Libertadores final, this was a pretty decent dress rehearsal for one of the craziest games in football.
