There was no shortage of entertainment during Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool this weekend.

It certainly wasn't the highest-scoring game between the two Premier League giants, but football fans were treated to 90 minutes of end-to-end football and goalscoring opportunities galore.

In the end, a draw was probably a fair result, even if Arsenal found themselves in control for large periods of the fixture.

James Milner opened the goalscoring in the second-half, reacting mercilessly to a mistake from Bernd Leno by finding the net with a ruthless right-footed finish.

Arsenal piled on the pressure as the final whistle approached, though, and it was an inspired strike from Alexandre Lacazette that ensured the spoils were shared.

Liverpool drop two points

There's great positivity surrounding the Arsenal camp after the game, but Liverpool have been left to rue missed chances and are considering it two points dropped.

Besides, the result could have major permutations for the title race with Manchester City huge favourites going into their next match against Southampton.

Of course, that's a game completely out of Liverpool's hands and Jurgen Klopp will have to assess his own team before the Reds try and return to winning ways against Fulham.

Football fans rate Liverpool players

Klopp will have to consider making alterations to his starting XI and individual performances are being placed under the microscope with football fans wading into the debate.

That's because BBC Sport allowed their readers to rate every player during the game and the results have now been revealed with the Liverpool figures looking rather interesting.

With each player given an exact number, the Liverpool players have essentially been ranked based on their display. That said, take a look at the list below:

1. Virgil van Dijk (6.64)
2. Andrew Robertson (6.28)
3. Sadio Mane (6.23)
4. James Milner (6.21)
5. Mohamed Salah (6.08)
6. Joe Gomez (6.05)
7. Roberto Firmino (5.87)
8. Alisson Becker (5.85)
9. Georginio Wijnaldum (5.72)
10. Xherdan Shaqiri (5.70)
11. Trent Alexander-Arnold (5.69)
12. Fabinho (5.22)
13 Joel Matip (4.88)

Some pleasant reading if you're name is Virgil van Dijk, that's for sure.

It's no surprise that the Dutchman tops the list after a sensational defensive performance, even if he missed numerous chances at the other end of the pitch.

There were also positive reviews for the likes of Robertson, Mane and Milner who were some of Liverpool's finest performers on the night.

At the other end of the spectrum, though, Fabinho has received plenty of negative ratings and criticism of his display was rife across Twitter.

Similarly, Alexander-Arnold had something of an off-day in north London and was criticised for his role in Lacazette's late equaliser.

It's certainly interesting to see how fans have voted with potentially unbiased supporters casting their verdict and - crucially - the ratings were collected during the game itself.

That way, fans have a completely unfiltered set of results and it will be intriguing to see the Liverpool XI that takes to the field next weekend.
