The past few years haven't exactly been the best of times to be a fan of the Cleveland Browns.Relegated to being pretty much the laughing stock of the National Football League, the Browns haven't really been able to do anything, with some awful head coaches and terrible draft picks (we're looking at you Manziel & Gilbert) stunting any progress that the team has made. But it finally looks like a corner has been turned, with John Dorsey in as a no-nonsense and smart General Manager, the Browns had something to build on - and added to it by selecting Baker Mayfield and Denzel Ward 1st and 4th overall respectively. This week saw the Browns fire both head coach Hue Jackson - who managed to win only 3 games in two-and-a-half years - and offensive coordinator Todd Haley, a man who seemingly spent every day he was employed by the Browns muttering behind his head coach's back. In came Gregg Williams as the interim head coach and Freddie Kitchens as the new OC, with today's game against the Kansas City Chiefs being their first in the new roles. And while the Browns did well to keep things close in the eventual 37-21 loss, there were some egregious errors that showed to us that they may well still be the same old Cleveland Browns. The one that sticks out the most came in the first quarter, with about three minutes left in the opening period. When you leave the tight end in to block on a passing play, you expect him to actually block. David Njoku had other ideas. In what has to go down as the most incompetent individual moment of the entire weekend, Njoku just let Chiefs cornerback Jordan Lucas go through untouched towards quarterback Baker Mayfield - who was taken down to the ground.

What really makes this perfectly Browns is the fact that the play isn't even over before Njoku and left tackle Greg Robinson are pointing fingers and blaming each other for the sack - that is still currently in process of being made.

Oh Cleveland, never change.
