Alvaro Morata scored four Premier League goals in as many matches after his double against Crystal Palace.

Morata helped Chelsea to a 3-1 win against Palace, with the Spaniard opening the scoring at Stamford Bridge before putting the Blues 2-1 up with a well taken half-volley inside the box.

Although Morata has endured an inconsistent run in the Chelsea side of late, with fellow forward Olivier Giroud often being selected ahead of him, the 26-year-old has now started in the Blues last three games.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, who Morata admitted his style works better under compared to former manager Antonio Conte, looks set to put his trust in the £57 million signing.

However, despite Morata’s brace against Palace, Sarri admitted to BBC Sport, that the Spaniard needs to improve mentally.

Sarri on where Morata needs to improve

“I’m really happy for Alvaro. He has improved a lot over the last month,” Sarri said. “He’s also made improvements from a technical and tactical point of view.

“He has great potential, but he needs to improve more in terms of his confidence and personality.

“Sometimes he is a little bit fragile, but the technical potential is very good."

Sarri was asked whether he believes Morata is capable of becoming one of the best strikers in the world.

“I don’t know if he can be,” Sarri admitted.

"Potentially he can, of course. There is plenty of talent there.

“But he knows he needs to improve and perform more consistently for us.”

Sarri cannot be accused of dishonesty, as it’s clear he has confidence in his striker, and his call for Morata to be more consistent is only fair.

As Morata has now scored five league goals in 10 appearances, Sarri and Chelsea fans will eagerly anticipate whether the Spaniard can keep this form up and really announce himself as a regular in the Chelsea’s starting 11.
