Liverpool extended their Premier League unbeaten run on Saturday evening with a 1-1 draw away at Arsenal.

Alexandre Lacazette denied Liverpool all three points with a late equaliser in north London.

The result leaves Jurgen Klopp's side in third behind Manchester City and Chelsea, albeit only two points behind the league leaders.

Liverpool fans on social media have been surprisingly downcast since the 1-1 draw.

They're still yet to win a Premier League title and plenty believe the wait is going to continue at least one more season.

Speaking on Sky Sports Monday Night Football show, Jamie Carragher had a message for the negative Liverpool fans.

"I think Liverpool supporters, myself included obviously, they've got to just relax a little bit," said Carragher on Sky Sports.

"You'd think Liverpool had lost the league after the game at the weekend because 'oh it's two points dropped, Man City are gone two points clear', there's a long way to go.

"Man City are better than Liverpool, everyone knows that. That doesn't mean that Liverpool can't win the league."

Carragher outlined how the Reds can beat Man City to the title.

He continued: "I think Liverpool's hope of winning the league is in the second half of the season if City go far in the Champions League and the whole club focuses on the Champions League and takes their eye off the ball slightly.

"That's the only chance Liverpool have got, because City are better than them."

Carragher is absolutely right.

Pep Guardiola's side look flawless right now but things could potentially unravel if they reach the latter stages of the Champions League.

Klopp insists Liverpool won't obsess over Man City and suggested it could be one of the most exciting title races in years.

“It doesn’t make sense to think like that because it puts you in a situation where you feel like you are not in charge. You react on what they do,” said Klopp.

“If they play on Friday and we play on Sunday, you think for two days from Friday until Sunday about the pressure being more on us because they have won already. But then you miss Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, United or whatever.

“It's like it is, and hopefully it stays like this until the end of the season. It is probably the most exciting season for years."
