In attack, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney have scored a ridiculous amount of goals between them.
But who are the best midfielders the Premier League has ever seen?
We’ve witnessed some world-class central midfielders with a constant debate between fans whether Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard is the greatest.
Well, football magazine FourFourTwo have gone one step further and decided to rank the top 10 best central midfielders in Premier League history.
Whatever their order, FourFourTwo were always going to get fans talking.
However, their top 10 is controversial to say the least.

And it’s almost impossible to find a football fan on social media that agrees with that list.
While Keane was a fantastic player, not many consider him to be the best midfielder in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, FourFourTwo settles the Lampard/Scholes/Gerrard debate in that order.
Then, there’s the absence of the likes of Xabi Alonso and Cesc Fabregas.
Of course, football is all about opinions and picking the top 10 central midfielders in the history of the Premier League is certainly a difficult task.
But FourFourTwo have definitely riled quite a few football fans with their selection.
