Barcelona are the first team to qualify for the last-16 of the Champions League.

Ernesto Valverde's side drew 1-1 with Inter Milan at San Siro on Tuesday evening, with both Tottenham and PSV now unable to catch them.

It was a game the Blaugrana dominated but struggled to take their chances in.

On a different night, Luis Suarez would have had a hat-trick and if Lionel Messi had been playing, it could have been a different score entirely.

As it were, second-half substitute Malcom scored the opening goal for the visitors, just two minutes after coming on for Ousmane Dembele.

Mauro Icardi would equalise four minutes later, handing Inter a serious advantage to join Barca in the last-16.

The big talking point in the Spanish media was Malcom's goal, his first competitive one for the club after barely any game time this season.

And Madrid-based publication Marca spoke very positively about the Brazilian - and slated Dembele in the process.

They wrote: "Ernesto Valverde hasn't quite been able to get the very best out of either Ousmane Dembele or Malcom in the 2018/19 season to this point, however, in Milan on Tuesday evening the Brazilian forward did more in two minutes that the Frenchman did in 80."

Another disappointing night for the Dembele, who just cannot seem to get on board with the Barca style of playing.

As for Malcom, his directness after coming on was exactly what the Blaugrana needed and Marca summed up his cameo perfectly.

Their report stated: "Valverde hasn't given him any more than 105 minutes since his arrival in the summer, and when you see the directness with which the former Bordeaux star played that appears a far stranger decision than anyone realised."

They may have a point and it looks increasingly likely that Malcom will have a more involved role than Dembele in the coming weeks.
