After putting on killer matches in NXT, WWE finally gave the go-ahead for Andrade 'Cien' Almas earlier to appear on the main roster earlier this year.

The start to his WWE career was slightly underwhelming, but ever since a heel turn and being paired with 'business manager' Zelina Vega last year, Almas went from strength to strength.

Almost a year ago Almas captured the NXT Championship from Drew McIntyre, and was awarded a five-star match from Dave Meltzer for his classic bout with Johnny Gargano at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia in January.

As part of the post-WrestleMania brand shake-up, 'El Idolo' got the call-up to SmackDown Live, but it took a month for him to actually appear in the ring, engaging in a feud with fellow Mexican Sin Cara, dispatching of him several times.

His first few matches clearly impressed the big boss Vince McMahon, as since then he's been in the ring with the likes of AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan.

And one thing you can guarantee with Almas is a spectacular match when given the right opponent, which is what we got in both instances despite being on the wrong end of the result.

In recent weeks though, Almas has been inconspicuous to say the very least, not appearing since a mixed tag loss with Vega to R-Truth and Carmella, but tongues were wagging when it was revealed he was to return and face Rey Mysterio on this weeks SmackDown.

Some WWE fans are getting frustrated at the lack of wins for Andrade 'Cien' Almas, despite putting on great showings.

A feud between the two would be epic, but we got a glimpse of what could be to come last night, and it was Mysterio that got the better on this occasion, but Almas put on another great show.

But some fans aren't impressed at all at the decision to let another star go-over Almas so early in his main roster run, and have taken to social media to air their concerns.

Almas has a lot of fans both in the live audience and on Twitter, and with the skills he possesses between the ropes, it's easy to see why.

With McMahon reportedly high on his abilities, surely a big push is coming sooner rather than later - and hopefully some wins come along with that at the same time.
