The New Orleans Saints have made a near-perfect start to the 2018 NFL season, sitting on a 7-1 record as we pass the halfway point.

The Saints are leading the NFC South - one game ahead of the Carolina Panthers - and after beating the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings in back-to-back weeks, are many people's favourite to take home the Lombardi Trophy come February.

But despite Drew Brees being on pace to win the MVP award, and Michael Thomas cementing himself as arguably the second best receiver in the entire league, the Saints want to improve their offense. And they know just how.

According to reports, the Saints have been trying out some wide receivers over the past week, with Brandon Marshall and Kamar Aiken both coming in for a workout.

But the man in it looks like the Saints are going to settle on his Dez Bryant. Yes, it looks the 3x Pro Bowl wide receiver has finally found a new home.

According to a report from NFL.com, the former Dallas Cowboys star and the Saints have been working on a deal that would see Bryant come in and join the New Orleans roster until at least the end of the 2018 season.

Bryant, who was released by the Cowboys in April, hasn't really been heard about all that much since his workout with the Browns back in August, where the two sides couldn't agree on the terms to a deal.

In New Orleans, Bryant would become Drew Brees number two option at wideout behind the aforementioned Thomas.

And that's exactly why the Saints are making the move. Behind Thomas, the Saints next two top pass catchers on the season are running back Alvin Kamara and tight end Benjamin Watson.

No other NOLA wide receiver has more than 12, the number that Tre'quan Smith and Ted Ginn sit on, with Cam Meredith having a pitiful 9 catches all year long after his heralded move in free agency this summer.
