Jose Mourinho took a dig at the FA in his post-match interview after Juventus win

Manchester United were looking at consecutive losses to Juventus in the Champions League with just minutes remaining in Turin.

Another defeat would have left Jose Mourinho’s side in third and facing an uphill task to qualify for the last-16 stage of the competition.

That was until two goals in the final few minutes turned the match on its head.

First, Juan Mata scored a beautiful free-kick. Then, Juve failed to deal with a set-piece, resulting in an Alex Sandro own-goal.

United had somehow pulled off a remarkable victory and Mourinho celebrated on the pitch by cupping his hand to his ear.

Like at Old Trafford, Mourinho had been given plenty of stick by the Juve fans.

A fortnight ago, he held up three fingers to signify the treble he had won with Inter Milan during the 2009/10 season.

But a simple ‘ear cupping’ was all that was needed to rile the Juve players and fans after the match.

But it was something that United fans thoroughly enjoyed.

And they also enjoyed his post-match interview.

When asked about his celebration, Mourinho replied: “What happened during the 94 minutes?”

When the reporter explained that the Juventus players were upset with his reaction to the final whistle, Mourinho produced a rather hilarious one-liner.

“Do you understand Italian? Ask the FA and they will translate for you.”

It certainly made himself laugh - but it also made not just United fans laugh but also rival fans.

Check out the reaction:

Mourinho was cleared by the Independent Regulatory Commission of swearing at a TV camera in Portuguese after United’s 3-2 win over Newcastle last month.

However, on Wednesday, the FA announced they will appeal against that decision not to charge him, meaning Mourinho could still be punished.

The Portuguese boss doesn’t seem too fussed, though…
