Manchester United achieved a remarkable result in Turin to beat Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday night.A stunning Cristiano Ronaldo volley looked to consign Jose Mourinho’s side to another defeat but Juan Mata’s free-kick and an Alex Sandro own-goal gave the Red Devils a dramatic win.United are now fully expected to progress to the last-16.While the senior side are doing well, their Under-19 side are doing even better in their equivalent UEFA Youth League.Against the same opponents, the young Red Devils have won three and drawn one. That draw came in Italy on Wednesday afternoon before United’s win, with the Under 19s drawing 2-2.And the star of the show was captain Angel Gomes.Just take a look at his highlights against Juventus and you can see why he’s regarded as a hot prospect at the Theatre of Dreams:The 18-year-old is highly rated at Old Trafford and has already played twice for the first-team.And it seems it’s just a matter of time before the midfielder breaks into Mourinho’s side on a regular basis.Earlier this week, Gomes explained how Under 19 manager Nicky Butt has been helping him to develop and fulfil his potential.“In the Under-19s, Nicky [Butt] has been playing me a bit deeper,” he said. “Mainly to keep the ball ticking. We’ve got enough firepower up front to get the goals in.“So the role is a bit different with the Under-19s, and I am playing a bit deeper, but I’ve played in that position before and I’m quite used to playing there. I’m quite comfortable there but I’ll play anywhere I get played. I don’t mind where I’m playing.

“In the UEFA Youth League, it’s difficult as you’re playing against the best team teams in Europe and the best players in the world at their age. If you don’t have the ball, you’ll be doing a lot of running.

“So I think the way we plan our games is to keep a lot of possession, keeping the ball, and we’ve done it really well in our previous games. We’ve got some good results and hopefully can keep it going.”
