Manchester United enjoyed one of their most memorable nights in recent years after beating a heavily favoured Juventus side in Turin.

The Italian giants entered the tie as overwhelming favourites having beaten United in Manchester only two weeks prior.

However, Jose Mourinho’s side were not to be rolled over, securing a remarkable come-from-behind win against one of the favourites to lift the European cup this season.

The Red Devils looked to be in a spot of bother when Cristiano Ronaldo lashed home a brilliant volley in the second half but they roared back with two late goals.

Juan Mata slotted home delightfully from a free-kick before Alex Sandro put through his own net to hand United the win late-on.

There was plenty of controversy following the game after Mourinho taunted took to the pitch to taunt the Juventus faithful.

What seems to have irked United fans the most however, were Ronaldo’s bitter post-match comments in which he claimed United did not deserve the three points.

“I was happy for the goal but I am a little bit disappointed,” Ronaldo told Viasport.

“We should’ve won the game easily. Three, four goals. And Manchester didn’t do much, in my opinion.

“They create two chances, set-pieces, they know the English teams, they are always looking for the set-pieces but we will learn from our mistakes and we are still top of the group.”

United fans were quick to lay into their former superstar calling for him to “wind his neck in” - to put it gently.

And now it seems that even some of the United players have jumped on the bandwagon after Jesse Lingard posted a photo on Instagram poking fun at Ronaldo’s goal celebration.

The Portuguese superstar wheeled away before revealing and highlighting his rather impressive set of abs.

However, after Juve slumped to a loss, Lingard felt confident enough to fire his own kind of volley Ronaldo’s way.

Unsurprisingly, it looks like the United players are revelling in their Turin victory.

While his social media game might be strong, Lingard still has a bit of work to do before he can match Ronaldo in terms of footballing ability.

Perhaps it’s not worth poking the bear, but for now at least, it makes for a funny Instagram post.
