It really is a good time to be a boxing fan. With so many high profile and exciting fights set to come our way from pretty much every single weight division going, it makes it difficult to know which fight to get most excited about.Well there is one upcoming fight which we can all get very excited about indeed and that is the fight between undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and the former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew. Those of you who follow the sport of boxing will know that the English boxing star decided to vacate his WBC cruiserweight title in order to move up to the heavyweight division and fight the two-weight former champion David Haye, stopping him in both fights. What many of you might not be aware of, though, is that it actually seems that the Bomber was quite lucky to retain his WBC cruiserweight title in the first place. In his last fight at cruiserweight, back in October 2016, Bellew defended his WBC title against the game challenger BJ Flores, with the Liverpudlian stopping his American opponent in the third round. However, a video has now come to light which suggests that Tony Bellew was lucky to win that fight at all.In the first round of the fight, the 35-year-old champion is coming off worse against the challenger and clearly loses the round by a distance. The start of the second round is more of the same, until Bellew hits Flores with a low blow, before then hitting him with an elbow to the head.

Referee for the fight, a certain Mr Ian John-Lewis, spoke to both fighters in the dressing room beforehand and explained that he would not let these sort of punches go, while it is clear to see that he visibly noticed both of these illegal punches from Bellew, but did nothing about it.

The low blow, followed by the elbow clearly turned the fight in the favour of the champ, with Flores struggling to regain his composure, before being put down and out in the next round.

Lucky Mr Bellew, you might say.

It is going to be interesting to see whether Tony Bellew resorts to using dirty tactics in order to beat Oleksandr Usyk, and we cannot wait for what has the potential to be the fight of the year.
