WWE's plans have been forced to drastically change in recent weeks, and it's primarily down to the sad news regarding the return of Roman Reigns' leukaemia diagnosis.

The fallout from that upsetting announcement saw Dean Ambrose turn on Seth Rollins much sooner than planned, while The Big Dog's news also meant he would miss out competing at the Crown Jewel event where he was set to defend the Universal Championship against both Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman.

NEW PLANS

The assumption was that The Monster Among Men would finally claim Monday Night RAW's biggest prize in Saudi Arabia.

However, WWE swerved the fans yet again as The Beast managed to regain the Universal Championship after defeating Strowman.

It's now been claimed that Lesnar has signed a new deal with WWE now that Reigns is unavailable, while it's also thought that he has the option to return to the Octagon and compete for the UFC.

At the moment, it looks likely that Daniel Cormier will be his opponent.

Outlets have suggested that Lesnar will now stick around until WrestleMania 35. Now, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that The Beast is set to feature in a major angle heading into next year which will see him go up against two big-name stars from the red brand.

It's believed that Lesnar agreed to a new deal with the WWE in October, but WWE is trying to keep the specifics of the deal under wraps. It's being claimed that Lesnar will feature at Survivor Series but not at the TLC event.

The source has added that there is supposed to be a significant angle that is expected to push his storyline forward into 2019 and will include stars other than Strowman.

SIGNIFICANT ANGLE

At the moment, it's thought that Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre are the two top candidates right now.

The Kingslayer planted the subtle seed on Monday Night RAW this week when he name-dropped Lesnar, while rumours were circulating throughout the year that the two would eventually face off after Rollins began a social media trend playing down Lesnar's reign as Universal Champion.

Plus, the two do have unfinished business.

McIntyre, on the other hand, is said to be impressing officials and is being groomed for a main event spot.

This will be great news for WWE fans as they have been desperate to see new names enter the Universal title picture, while the addition of both Rollins and McIntyre are both exciting additionals to any Lesnar storyline.
