Vince McMahon no longer cares about sending WWE fans home happy

It's fair to say that Vince McMahon has seen his fair share of highs and lows in WWE.

Not that the WWE has ever been in any serious trouble since the Monday Night Wars ended, but he's been forced to handle plenty of criticism.

Clearly, the WWE can't please every single fan and to this day, Vince has to face the brunt of many decisions the fans deem as poor as they're not often what they agree with or want to see on television.

The most recent examples being Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship win - and the WWE going ahead with the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia in the first place.

Regular folk perhaps would melt under that sort of pressure, but Vince continues to take it in his stride, and now Bruce Prichard has revealed why.

Many years ago when the WWE was touring house shows, the primary goal was to send the fans home happy. This way, they would want another show in their town as soon as possible.

Recently, Vince has moved away from this logic, according to Prichard on Something to Wrestle With, claiming that Vince has been using this idea for quite a while.

Prichard claimed that Vince now tries to draw heat so fans are eager to see their hero return down the road.

According to Ringside News, he said: "When Vince went national with Hulk Hogan it was always 'leave them happy, leave them ‘up’ no matter what. That changed when we went to the monthly pay-per-views and the philosophy has changed even more so now with the Network.”

“They’re trying to get heat they’re trying to get people not as satisfied with those big shows so they’ll come back to see their hero or whatever return later on down the road.”

The source added that the same logic might have been used some weeks ago on Monday Night RAW.

WWE booked Dean Ambrose to turn on Seth Rollins after they captured the RAW tag team titles. It was also the same night where Roman Reigns announced that he was taking a hiatus due to leukemia.

WWE is still in a good position right now, so it doesn't seem like Vince's thought process will change any time soon.
