Attacking midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is rumoured to be a target for premier League contenders Manchester United.

The 20-year-old, who has been described as the next Mesut Ozil, is priced at £8 million by his current club Nurenberg. However, it is unclear if Manchester United are going to agree with this price.

Gundogan is an attacking central midfielder, with a creative influence on the pitch. He is a great free kick taker and has the ability to shoot from distance. Although, critics of the young player believe that the young German international needs more experience and to increase his physical strength if he wishes to live up to his comparisons with Mesut Ozil though.

Gundogan may be just who Manchester United need to sign in order to quash speculation that they can no longer attract the big names and justify their chief executive David Gill's statement that the Old Trafford club can "still retain and attract the stars we need on the pitch."
