UFC officials will be very pleased with how UFC Denver unfolded last night, the promotion's 25th-anniversary event in the same city where UFC 1 took place in 1993.One of the most watched fights on the card was Donald Cerrone's welterweight clash with Mike Perry at welterweight, as it provided the former with a chance to enter his name in the UFC history books. It only took The Cowboy 4:46 in the first round to do just that. With 25 seconds remaining in the opening round, Cerrone locked in an armbar on Perry, causing him to panic.Platinum body slammed The Cowboy on the canvas of the Octagon in an attempt to break the hold, but he was unsuccessful as he rolled out of it.Ten seconds later, he submitted to the armbar, etching his opponent's name in the history books as a result, as Cerrone broke the UFC wins record with his 21st win, breaking away from Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping who he shared the record with before his fight at UFC Denver.

The Cowboy said in his post-fight interview, according to MMA Fighting: "Most wins in UFC history, baby. What an honor. I’m so proud, I love you Denver.”

Several former and current UFC fighters congratulated Cerrone on Twitter for picking up the most wins in UFC history following his win against Perry on Saturday night.

Following his clash at welterweight, The Cowboy said he wants to move back down to lightweight, and he made it clear as to which fighter he wants to face inside the Octagon next, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

He said, according to MMA Mania: “I don’t care who, I just wanna know when! You’re damn right, I’m coming after that belt, Khabib, I’m coming. Cowboy is back!”

While it might be a while before we see Khabib vs Cerrone anytime soon, The Cowboy is in good form, as this win means he moves to a 34-11-1 record, having won two of his last three fights.

Perry, on the other hand, has now lost three of his past four fights and moves to a 12-4 record.
