Gonzalo Higuain would have waken up this morning feeling horrible. The Argentine played a key role as his AC Milan side lost 2-0 to Juventus at the San Siro on Sunday night.Higuain is currently on loan at AC Milan from Juventus, which meant he had a golden opportunity to get revenge on his former employers. But, unfortunately for Higuain, his night quickly turned into a nightmare. With his side 1-0 down going into the latter stages of the first-half, the 30-year-old had the chance to level proceedings from the penalty spot. However, his effort from 12 yards was pushed on to the post by Wojciech Szczęsny and away to safety. His miss would prove costly when Cristiano Ronaldo notched Juventus' second on the 81st minute, and Higuain lost his head shortly after. The Argentine was booked twice in the matter of seconds; the first for a bad challenge and the second for dissent. He then completely lost his head after being given his marching orders.Watch the moment below:

Higuain had possibly his worst night of his career as a professional footballer and he did not present himself in a good light with his actions after being sent off.

But, Higuain has attempted to redeem himself by posting an emotional apology on Instagram.

"I want to apologize to everyone for the behaviour of yesterday's expulsion, the team, society, fans who despite yesterday showed me their love all the time," he said.

"We are people too and we have feelings but I am responsible and I hope it does not happen again.

"Some will understand it, others will not. I also apologize to all. Have a nice life."

Fair play, Gonzalo.

He is obviously embarrassed by the way he acted and regrets his actions.

As he says, let's hope he does not lose his head in the same manner as that on a football pitch again.
