Bale inspires famous Spurs victory

Gareth Bale was the inspiration once more as Tottenham put on breath-taking display of attacking football to sweep aside Champions League holders Inter Milan with a 3-1 victory at White Hart Lane.

Spurs raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Rafael van der Vaart's opener and Peter Crouch's tap in, which came from a fine cross from Bale, who ran the Inter defence ragged all night.

Samuel Eto'o's strike set up a tense finale before Bale burst past Lucio and centred for substitute Roman Pavlyuchenko, who rounded off the scoring to put the Londoners top of Group A.
