The New England Patriots tried to reinvent their running back corps over the offseason.Bill Belichick decided to let Dion Lewis - the Patriots' defacto number one back - head off to Tennessee in free agency, unwilling to match the offer sheet the Titans put in for Lewis. In replacement of Lewis, New England looked to the draft and with their first-round pick added college star Sony Michel out of Georgia to pair with James White as the new-look running back attack in Foxboro. At the weekend, the Titans and Patriots lined up across from each other for the first time since Lewis made the move to Nashville and he ended up having the last laugh as his new side ran out 34-10 winners in a beatdown that was so bad Belichick pulled Tom Brady out of the game instead of chasing the comeback. And after that thorough shellacking, Lewis had something to get off his chest. Speaking of how it felt to beat the team that let him go, Lewis made sure to let reporters know just how tasty revenge can be. "It's a real sweet win," Lewis said of the triumph. "Especially when you used to be there and they didn't want to bring you back. Definitely real sweet."

"Hell yeah it's personal," Lewis went on to add. "That's what happens when you go cheap. You get your ass kicked."

While the Patriots may still sit atop the AFC East and look like their coasting to yet another playoff trip, compared to Tennessee's fight to make it out of the South, Lewis is still going to savour this personal victory.

Speaking on Monday after the game, Brady told the WEEI radio station that he has no hard feelings about Lewis' comments.

"It's an emotional thing. I think people have different emotional feelings," Brady said on Monday morning.

"Dion had a great career here. It's hard to see great players go and I know it's not the first time it's happened, it has happened to a lot of guys. I am sure when they go to different places they want to beat us, absolutely. I can understand that emotion."
