Ronda Rousey shocked the world when appearing at the Royal Rumble in January.

A long-term admirer of sports entertainment, the rumours of Rousey crossing from the UFC to the WWE had been escalating for months before her arrival.

And she's taken to it like a seasoned professional.

She couldn't have had much better company in her first match, competing with the likes of Kurt Angle and Triple H.

But she's gone from strength-to-strength since then, and has been positioned as the woman to beat on Monday Night Raw, which is to be expected when you're a UFC Hall of Famer at the peak of your powers.

She main evented WWE's first-ever all-women's pay-per-view - Evolution - just a few weeks ago, and now arguably being the biggest star in the whole company, a WrestleMania main event could be on the cards in the near future.

Rousey though had huge reservations about joining the WWE, and has spoken about her fears in great detail - ones that have now quickly been dispelled.

"Honestly, coming into this, I expected all the fans and all the people in the locker room to hate my guts from day one," Rousey admitted on the PWI Podcast, via WrestlingInc.

"I was really blindsided by how accepting and amazing everybody has been, and how amazing the WWE Universe has been, and how amazing everybody in the locker room has been.

"I'm really not here for a quick paycheck, or some extra fame, or anything like that. I really love this business. I really want to contribute as much as I can and I don't want to take credit for the women's evolution.

"I don't want to take away from what everyone has been doing. I just want to be a catalyst and I want to be able to speed up what's going on here and bring more attention and more value to all the work that these women are doing. If I can do that in the least, then I'm happy.

"Just coming into this industry, I've been nothing but surprised nonstop by the absolute goodness in people, and how happy they are for me to be here, and for me to be a part of it.

"I was expecting resistance and resentment from day one and I've got nothing but acceptance and everybody willing to help me.

"There hasn't been one person who hasn't offered me a piece of advice, or knowledge, or something and I'm just so lucky that I'm surrounded by all of those teachers from day one."

The likes of Sasha Banks slated Rousey's arrival initially, so you can understand why Ronda was worried about the reaction coming in as an outsider and already a huge name in another sport.

But even The Boss has been proven wrong by the Rowdy one - and just imagine the carnage they'd cause if they stepped in the ring together.
