Before anything was even announced for last night's go-home edition of SmackDown Live, it  promised to be an interesting spectacle after what happened to close Monday Night Raw.As we know, Becky Lynch stood tall with her SmackDown Live comrades after invading the red brand to attack Ronda Rousey and the rest of the women's locker room.A retaliation invasion was expected to occur in St. Louis - but we got nothing of the sort.Instead, AJ Styles opened the show to talk about Brock Lesnar, and was quickly interrupted by none other than the Beast Incarnate's advocate, Paul Heyman.Heyman decided to goad Styles by saying he was not as good as Daniel Bryan, and AJ just had to remind the former ECW manager and the fans that he tapped Bryan out just two weeks previously. This irked the leader of the Yes movement, and the two had an in-ring brawl, which spilled backstage. It lead Commissioner Shane McMahon to make a huge main event for the WWE Championship - with the man holding the title at the end of the night going on to face Lesnar on Sunday. And the end sequence to the match shocked every single WWE fan watching around the globe. As Styles went for his Phenominal Forearm finish, he inadvertently struck referee Charles Robinson, disorientating him enough to not witness a clear lowblow by Bryan to the champion. One running knee later and it was lights out for Styles, and the end of a year-long title reign.

Bryan wasn't finished though, as he started repeatedly kicking the face of Styles as he lay on the mat after his defeat - a move that cemented a heel turn no-one thought would happen.

The smug look on Bryan's face after what he did was incredible to watch, and it's a character twist that is shocking considering how grateful he was to return to the ring only seven months ago.

We now get to see Brock Lesnar and Daniel Bryan go one-on-one in a WWE ring for the first time ever - and that is going to be incredible to witness.
