N'Golo Kante has been one of the most influential figures in modern Premier League history.
Many fans didn't bat an eyelid when Leicester brought the Frenchman in from Caen for £5.6m back in the summer of 2015.
Three years later, Kante has two Premier League trophies to his name and is adored by pretty much everyone.
Winning back-to-back titles with two different clubs is pretty remarkable and Chelsea's £33m investment in 2016 will go down as a true bargain in years to come.
Nevertheless, there have been rumours in the last year or so linking Kante with a move away from west London.
Barcelona have been mentioned, but the team constantly mentioned alongside Kante's name is Paris Saint-Germain.
However, French publication L'Equipe published a very interesting update on those rumours in their Thursday edition, per Sport Witness.
They claim that Kante is set to renew his Chelsea contract - which currently runs until 2021 - in due course.
He will earn one of the biggest wages in the Premier League and is apparently not keen on returning to Paris at all as he doesn't want to live in an area with so many 'old contacts'.
PSG would also struggle to match his enormous transfer fee and there would also be commission issues for the Ligue 1 champions.
It looks like Chelsea's good start to the season will be getting even better in the coming weeks.
Kante is the club's second most-important player - behind Eden Hazard - and keeping him is a reminder to the rest of Europe that the Blues mean business under Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea currently sit third in the Premier League table and are yet to lose a game in all competitions this season.
With Kante close to agreeing and Champions League football looking likely to return to Stamford Bridge, things really are looking up for the Blues.
All they need now is Hazard to sign a new deal...
