Callum Wilson is currently enjoying the best form of his life. The AFC Bournemouth striker has netted six times in the Premier League so far and looks set to add quite a few more on top of that.Bournemouth too are reaping the rewards having shown incredible faith in the 26-year-old through a series of truly heart-breaking injuries. The Englishman has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in both of his knees during his time with the coastal club and has spent months upon months on the sidelines. It was difficult to believe that Wilson could ever fulfil the potential he quite clearly showed before two such debilitating injuries. Now, however, Wilson is back and looking sharper and more dangerous than ever.As a result of his scintillating form, the striker received his first call-up to the English national fold as Gareth Southgate named him in his squad for the ties with the USA and Croatia. After so much heart ache and uncertainty surrounding his future, Wilson’s call up was more than well deserved.

Wilson scores on debut

Having repaid the faith shown in him by his club, he wasted little time in repaying the faith shown in him by Southgate.

Wilson slotted home at the near post in the 77th minute against the USA, in the process becoming the first Bournemouth player to score for the Three Lions.

Bournemouth’s classy congratulation tweet

It is no surprise that is was an incredibly proud moment for everyone at Bournemouth and their social media team deserve massive credit for the tweet they sent out in the aftermath of Wilson’s goal.

Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

Wilson’s club know better than anyone just how difficult it has been for him to reach this point in his career and their tweet made it all the more poignant.

He has been through some real lows that will only make last night’s goal even sweeter.

It is a night that Wilson will never forget and undoubtedly one of the highest points of his career.

Here’s hoping for many more moments like that - he certainly deserves it.
