While France were losing 2-0 to the Netherlands in Rotterdam in their UEFA Nations League, Paul Pogba was busy talking to one of the greatest players of all-time - Lionel Messi.Pogba, who pulled out of the France squad with a back injury - bumped into Messi in Salt Bae’s Turkish steak house in Dubai. But it wasn’t just a ‘smile and wave’ kind of meeting. Instead, Pogba and Messi had a little chinwag.Pogba showed off his intelligent side by speaking in Spanish throughout with images and videos going viral of the unlikely pair’s interaction. But what was being said? Was Messi trying to persuade Pogba to leave Manchester United to join Barcelona after the Frenchman has been linked with a move to the Camp Nou for months?Maybe. But not as far as we know. But we do know one thing that was mentioned - the famous N’Golo Kane song.Following France’s World Cup win, the players came up with a brilliant little chant for the midfielder - and it involved Messi. The tune includes the line “He stopped Leo Messi” in response to France 4-3 victory against Argentina in the round of 16.And it was chanted by Pogba upon France's homecoming after their World Cup triumph.
And according to the Metro, that came up in conversation with Pogba mentioning it.
Messi’s response?
He laughed out loud before gesturing and saying “That’s a lie!”
Cheeky.
That will probably settle a few United fans’ nerves after seeing the images of Pogba with Messi and immediately feared the worst.
Although considering Pogba’s comments in September, it’s probably not too surprising to hear the midfielder being linked with a move away from the club.
"My future is currently in Manchester, I still have a contract, I'm playing there at the moment, but who knows what will happen in the next few months," he said.
