Mohamed Salah is undoubtedly a hero back in his native Egypt - and he showed exactly why on Friday. The Liverpool forward stole the show as he scored a last-minute winner to defeat Tunisia in an African Cup of Nations qualifier. With the game all square at 2-2, Salah picked the ball up on the edge of the area before playing a neat one-two.Through on goal, he naturally kept his cool, lifting it over the goalkeeper to give Egypt the decisive fifth goal.Cue the passionate celebrations. That goal makes it eight games in a row that Salah has scored in for Egypt - so is it any real surprise that he's such a hero?In fact, a Salah goal was so inevitable that a young fan held up a sign asking him to score it early so she could go home and do her homework."Salah, please score. I want to go home, I have homework," it read.A screenshot of the sign was then posted on Twitter, with another fan saying they were hoping for the very same thing.

And considering Salah left things so late, he made sure to send a brilliant apology in reply.

"I really tried to let you go home early," he said. "And sorry to have kept you here until the last minute. I hope your teacher understands the situation."

Safe to say that they're only going to love him more after that.

Salah's goal means that Egypt are now level on points with Tunisia at the top of their qualifying group with one match to play.

If their talisman can score for a ninth game in a row, you've got to believe they'll be progressing to the next round.

Salah, who also became his country's third all-time goalscorer against Tunisia, really looks like he's back to his best after a somewhat slow start to the season - and Egypt fans won't be the only ones happy about that.
