Shawn Michaels gave the WWE Universe a treat at the start of the month by coming out of an eight-year retirement.

He teamed with Triple H to face Kane and a long-time rival - The Undertaker - and D-Generation X were victorious.

It was a pretty sloppy match to be honest, with The Game suffering a pectoral injury just minutes into the match, but Michaels was the star of the show.

He proved that he still has all the athleticism of when he was at his peak with a Moonsault to the outside onto both Kane and The Deadman - a fascinating scene at the age of 53.

But he shot down any further potential matches in the WWE ring, by saying he's looking forward to returning to his regular life and coaching at the Performance Center.

Fans were confused when it was decided that HBK would come out of retirement in the Middle East and not the USA at a big event like WrestleMania, they could only pinpoint one specific reason for that.

And when Michaels paid a visit to the podcast of WWE legends Edge and Christian recently, he revealed the 'real reason' why he decided to come out of retirement at Crown Jewel.

“So look one upside is it’s just one of those things I’m curious about, you know can I do my stuff," said Michaels, via NoDQ.

Shawn Michaels has finally admitted why he came out of retirement at Crown Jewel.

"So technically, yeah I could go in there and do my stuff and have a young guy work around me and all that, but the 100% only reason I said yes to this one was it was a special request by other people and again, I look at it as somebody has the [Rolling] Stones and KISS to come over and play their greatest hits.”

So Michaels is saying that he only performed in Saudi Arabia because the Government specially requested him to perform - that doesn't seem all so true, Shawn, just admit it was the money!

Michaels continued to explain why he's refused to end his absence for a one-on-one match with the likes of AJ Styles or Daniel Bryan.

“The idea of me working against a much younger guy at WrestleMania puts me in a much tougher difficult situation performance-wise," HBK stated.

"Something that has been consistent over the last eight years is I had not wanted to be put in that position because I’m good with the performances I had at WrestleMania and I wanted to end those the way that I ended them.

"This just happened to be a special thing that I didn’t think in a million years would come up but it did and that’s honestly the only reason I said yes.”
