Brazil beat Uruguay 1-0 on Friday evening in what was an intense all-South American friendly clash at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.
The decisive moment of the match came in the 76th-minute when Neymar coolly sent goalkeeper Martin Campana the wrong way to score a controversially-awarded penalty.
Six yellow cards were dished out to Uruguay players during the contest, with Neymar on the receiving end of many fouls, including from his own club teammate.
Edinson Cavani made the headlines for his tackle on Neymar, who he plays with at Paris Saint-Germain,and his subsequent reaction to the incident.
There are lots of people from the outside looking in that feel the pair have a bad relationship, but another moment from the friendly in London may suggest otherwise.
Neymar and Cavani: Friends or enemies?
When asked about his challenge on Neymar in a post-match interview, Cavani stated "there are no friendly matches in football", and it's not the first time they've clashed.
Following Neymar's arrival in Paris from Barcelona for a world-record £200 million in 2017, he and Cavani had some initial issues regarding who would take penalties.
That said, the two attackers scored a whopping 68 goals between them last season as PSG reclaimed the Ligue 1 title, and they've already bagged 22 in 2018-19.
What Cavani did after elbowing Neymar in friendly
During Brazil 1-0 Uruguay, Cavani raced to referee Craig Pawson along with compatriot Lucas Torreira to contest a decision, and Neymar was stood nearby.
As he gestured his right arm to try and catch the referee's attention, 31-year-old Cavani accidentally elbowed Neymar in the side of the face.
Contrary to the belief that the PSG forwards don't like each other, Cavani showed class by immediately consoling Neymar after realising what he'd done.
As you can see in the video below, the Uruguan instantly checked to see if his club teammate was alright, giving him a hug and even a little kiss on the injured area.
What's next for Neymar and Cavani?
On Tuesday, Brazil play Cameroon, Uruguay face world champions France, and after that both Neymar and Cavani will be reunited in the French capital.
Thomas Tuchel's men boast a huge 13-point lead and a 100% record in Ligue 1 so far this term, but everyone knows that the club's real target is the Champions League.
For Paris to have a chance at European glory, it's vital that their most expensive signing Neymar and all-time leading scorer Cavani are on good terms and in top-class form.
