WWE's NXT TakeOver: WarGames set the bar last night for Survivor Series later on today, as it was a fantastic show with several great matches that left the fans inside the Staples Center entertained.

The event only had five matches, but they all had their incredible moments. Matt Riddle defeated Kassius Ohno, Shayna Baszler defeated Kairi Sane in a Two-out-of-three falls match for the NXT Women's Championship, and Aleister Black defeated Johnny Gargano.

The main event of the show was the WarGames match, which was won by Pete Dunne, Ricochet, and War Raiders against The Undisputed Era and arguably the best clash of the night. However, the NXT Championship match just before it produced a good case for that title too.

Tommaso Ciampa successfully defended the NXT title against Velveteen Dream at the event after he performed a DDT on the metal partition between the two rings on his championship challenger.

Despite being unsuccessful in his attempt to win the NXT Championship, Dream received huge praise by Triple H while he was being interviewed by Cathy Kelly after the event.

The Game said how great Dream was and how scary it is that he is still so young for what he is producing in the ring.

He said, via Ringside News: “Here’s where I sit with Velveteen Dream. Unbelievable. Everything about him is not to be believed about how good he is and then I remember that he is only 23-years-old.

"23-years-old, to take the champion with as much experience as he has, Tommaso Ciampa, to take him to that limit. To make a little mistake and to lose in what could have gone either way at 23-years-old. To have the whole world thinking this is yours at 23 it’s scary how good he will be.

“It’s scary to think how dominant on every level he’ll be. If he’s not there now in a few years, it’s crazy to think that.”

Although The Dream may have been unsuccessful in his attempt to win the NXT title last night, it shouldn't be long until he gets gold around his waist in WWE.

Due to his performances in the ring in NXT, WWE fans shouldn't have to wait long either to see him on the main roster, either as a member of Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live.
