England secured progression to the Uefa Nations League Finals with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Croatia at Wembley.

Gareth Southgate's men needed a victory to qualify from group A4, but fell behind after 57 minutes when Andrej Kramaric broke the deadlock.

The goal came well against the run of play and put the Three Lions in serious danger of being relegated.

But, Jesse Lingard equalised with 12 minutes to play after Croatia failed to clear a Joe Gomez long throw.

And Harry Kane converted in the 86 minute to complete the comeback.

Kane's goal brought about scenes of elation from all inside Wembley.

As soon as the Spurs striker made it 2-1, many of England's players directly started sprinting towards him.

But not John Stones.

England fans have picked up on Stones' actions following the goal, and it's both bizarre and comical at the same time.

As the below video shows, instead of running straight to Kane, Stones decided to hurdle Lovre Kalinic.

But the Manchester City defender got his jump terribly wrong and ended up taking out the Croatian goalkeeper.

That is pretty funny to be fair.

It did seem completely unintentional from Stones but that did not stop England fans laughing at the moment.

Gareth Southgate was ecstatic with his team following the win and praised the atmosphere within Wembley.

"I have not seen Wembley like this for some time," he said, per the Telegraph. "If we can get an atmosphere like this we are going to be very strong.

"In terms of form and world rankings this was the toughest group. We have not sat back after the summer and preened ourselves. We are hungry.

"People can see what we are doing. The biggest thing is the connection with the fans. That gives us energy."
