Ever since the Philadelphia Eagles successfully performed the 'Philly Philly' play in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots last season, many teams have now been trying their own versions of the play.In case you needed a reminder of the play, quarterback Nick Foles famously caught a touchdown pass from tight end Trey Burton during the play, and it has gone down as one of the most iconic plays in Super Bowl history.Since the Eagles performed the play in the Super Bowl, several teams have tried to copy the play directly or add their own twist on the play. The latest team to try it is the Indianapolis Colts, and they came within inches of completing the play for a touchdown during their Week 11 game against the Tennessee Titans.Early in the second quarter and while being up by seven, the Colts ran the play with quarterback Andrew Luck handing the ball off to running back Nyheim Hines who then pitched it to tight end Eric Ebron.Ebron then looked downfield to see Luck running towards the right corner of the endzone with one-on-one coverage, so he decided to throw it towards his quarterback. As you can see in the video below, the ball was unfortunately just a little bit further ahead than the Colts quarterback, but he did make a great attempt to catch the ball by diving for it.

Like a salmon jumping out of the water.

Luck has never had a catch in his NFL career since being drafted by the Colts in 2012, nevermind a touchdown catch. This would have been his first in both categories had he caught the ball in the endzone on this play.

It shouldn't be surprising to NFL fans that the Colts ran their own version of the 'Philly Philly' play, as their head coach, Frank Reich, was the offensive coordinator for the Eagles during their Super Bowl-winning season last year.

It's currently half time between the Colts and the Titans. Indianapolis is currently leading the game 24-3 after first half touchdowns by T.Y. Hilton, Marlon Mack, and Jordan Wilkins.
